In response to the current situation of these industries, Duan Xiaoping, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and president of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Sustainable China's Chemical Fiber Industry" at the China Chemical Fiber Technology Conference (Quanzhou 2019). And put forward the four elements of grasping innovation, resources, environment and talents.

Duan Xiaoping pointed out that in order to achieve sustainable development, the chemical fiber industry must meet the needs of the present generation, and it must not pose a hazard to the ability of future generations to meet their needs. At the same time, it must continuously improve its survival and competitiveness to avoid being eliminated by the market.

The four key elements of sustainable development are innovation, resources, the environment and talent. Duan Xiaoping pointed out that innovation is more important in the current difficult environment. Because innovation is the need of survival and the need for development.

Duan Xiaoping emphasized that the core of innovation is technology. In view of how to innovate in the field of textile and chemical fiber, he believes that innovation requires the upstream and downstream cooperation of the entire industry chain to jointly promote the advancement of science and technology. At the same time, innovation cannot be countered by trends and cannot be countered by trends. “At present, the general trend of the chemical fiber industry is: industry chain integration, leading effect, subdivision to king (doing the best in the market segment), including smart manufacturing, green manufacturing, brand manufacturing, etc., if the company does not belong to these trends One of them, it should attract attention." Duan Xiaoping said.

At present, the development of the world chemical fiber industry is facing resource constraints and environmental pressures. Synthetic fiber uses petroleum as the basic raw material, petroleum is a non-renewable resource; synthetic fiber is not degradable, and carbon emissions are large in the production process; at present, most of the waste textiles are used as landfill or incineration; foreign third-party organizations believe that Most of the global “marine microplastic pollution” comes from textiles. These factors seriously restrict the sustainable development of synthetic fibers. In Duan Xiaoping's view, to solve these problems, we must work hard on biological sources, recycling, biodegradation, and green manufacturing.

To achieve sustainable development, we need the support of a technology system dominated by green manufacturing technologies. Duan Xiaoping pointed out that green manufacturing technology can be summarized as "8+3". Among them, “8” refers to green pulping technology, one-step extraction technology of regenerated cellulose fiber, organic matter extraction technology in polyester esterification wastewater, polyester non-ruthenium catalyst polymerization technology, high-performance fiber and product recycling technology, and waste. Textile chemical recycling technology, recycled polypropylene direct spinning technology, air conditioning system energy-saving integration technology, they all belong to the field of energy-saving and emission reduction technology; "3" refers to raw liquid colored chemical fiber, bio-based chemical fiber, recycled chemical fiber, they are It belongs to the field of green fiber manufacturing technology.

Duan Xiaoping also pointed out that under the new normal and new situation, the driving effect of the traditional path is gradually weakened, so enterprises must carry out path innovation. The new path for the development of China's chemical fiber industry is refining and chemical integration, new product development, green manufacturing and machine substitution. He emphasized that green development is very important. As a source of textile industry chain development, fiber's green development process is of great significance to promote the sustainable development of the textile industry and the whole society.

In terms of R&D and talents, Duan Xiaoping called on: Enterprises should pay more attention to talents and R&D. He said that products can be copied, but the product development system and model formed over time are difficult to replicate. Many companies now have innovative R&D centers, but many companies have set short-term R&D targets for R&D departments. This is not advisable. R&D needs to accumulate over time and cannot be rushed. At the same time, enterprises must reserve talents, retain talents, and do some forward-looking research to avoid being subverted by new technologies and new entrants.
